With Grandma’s Austrian Pastry Recipe Notebook, I’ve brought a heartfelt project to life, preserving my grandmother’s culinary treasures for generations to come. I’ve taken family recipes written down on yellowed scraps of paper, complete with Grandma’s typical measurements like “a little bit” or “as much as needed until it tastes right,” and turned them into precise measurements, so they can be recreated successfully today.
What also makes this project special is that I did everything myself, from writing and designing the layout to creating the hand-drawn illustrations, photographing the food, and publishing the book independently. The result is a one-of-a-kind cookbook that shares more than just recipes, it also passes on a piece of Austrian culinary history, lovingly documented and kept alive for future generations.
