Simple Austrian Semolina Porridge
Arbeitszeit 5 Minuten Min.
Basic Recipe:
- 500 ml whole milk
- 90 g soft wheat semolina approx. 5 tablespoons for a slightly firmer semolina cook, for a more liquid consistency approx. 4 tablespoons
- small pinch of salt
- cocoa powder for sprinkling
Variations:
- Dissolve 1 tablespoon of butter in the hot semolina mixture
- Sprinkle with additional granulated sugar or add sugar to the boiling porridge
- use cinnamon instead of cocoa
- add vanilla flavor
Bring the milk to the boil (be careful it burns easily at the bottom and boils over easily, always stay with the pan and stir).
Add a pinch of salt and semolina (approx. 5 heaped tablespoons) and simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until it has the desired consistency.
Serve sprinkled with cocoa. The recipe produces a slightly firmer semolina mixture. If you like it more liquid, use a little less semolina.
