Semolina Porridge Recipe

Simple Austrian Semolina Porridge

Zutaten

Basic Recipe:

  • 500 ml whole milk
  • 90 g soft wheat semolina approx. 5 tablespoons for a slightly firmer semolina cook, for a more liquid consistency approx. 4 tablespoons
  • small pinch of salt
  • cocoa powder for sprinkling

Variations:

  • Dissolve 1 tablespoon of butter in the hot semolina mixture
  • Sprinkle with additional granulated sugar or add sugar to the boiling porridge
  • use cinnamon instead of cocoa
  • add vanilla flavor

Anleitung

  • Bring the milk to the boil (be careful it burns easily at the bottom and boils over easily, always stay with the pan and stir).
  • Add a pinch of salt and semolina (approx. 5 heaped tablespoons) and simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until it has the desired consistency.
  • Serve sprinkled with cocoa. The recipe produces a slightly firmer semolina mixture. If you like it more liquid, use a little less semolina.
