Grandma's Grenadiermarsch Recipe

Grenadier march is the perfect hearty home-cooked meal recipe for using up leftovers from the whole week.
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 100 g smoked meat or bacon cubes
- 2 bread dumplings ~200 g
- 2 boiled potatoes ~200 g
- 100 g short pasta like macaroni
- 1 teaspoon chives
- Pepper
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon marjoram optional
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds optional
- 2 eggs optional
Fry the finely chopped onion in oil until light brown.
Add the crushed garlic and finely diced smoked meat.
Add finely chopped bread dumplings, potatoes, and pasta.
Season with salt, pepper, and optionally marjoram and caraway seeds.
Fry in a pan until everything is slightly crispy.
Optionally, crack eggs over the mixture and fry them as well.
Serve sprinkled with chives.
